C4S with RSR Suspension System (Street Springs) 993 - 993 Twin-Turbo & 996 - Twin-Turbo Performance Enhancements Rennsport Systems now offers several suspension improvement packages for the 993-series & 996-series Porsches as well as Performance Chips for the 96-on OBDII-equipped cars. We designed three basic suspension improvement packages to choose from. Each can be custom-tailored for your particular car and driving requirements. Stage I: Lowering Springs & Bilstein HD Shocks This is a simple, but very effective change to H&R Sport Springs that are compatible with the Factory shock valving. This will lower your 993 to the European Carrera RS ride that is approximately 1 ½" lower than USA-spec cars. This firms the ride up without being uncomfortable and really makes the car feel much tighter in lane changes as well as being more stable when driven quickly. This is about ½" lower than the Factory Euro M030 kit and slightly stiffer. Bilstein shocks replace the short-lived OEM Monroes and match the H&R springs very nicely. One can also install larger ROW M030 non-adjustable swaybars or the RS adjustable ones.Here is a list of the different 993 swaybars;

Here are the 9-way adjusting knobs on the bottom of the struts and the rear shocks. The alloy collar is the rear upper swaybar mount that is movable for eliminating swaybar preload. Monoball-equipped camber plates are also available but not generally recommended for street use unless additional camber is required.
Here is our Bilstein PSS-9 Rear Perch Kit:
This replaces the Bilstein upper spring perch designed for Monoballs. These offer the advantages of monoballs/camberplates (no deflection) without the noise & vibration associated with such components. Bilstein now provides these in all PSS-9 kits since 2005.
The RS front bar is a 23mm, 5-way adjustable unit and the rear RS bar is a 20mm (22mm for GT-2) 3-way adjustable unit. These come with all necessary brackets and droplinks. The stock front droplinks for a C4 or C4S will clear the front driveshafts except for the frontmost hole.

These chips will typically add about 7-8 % more overall torque to the naturally aspirated 996 with improved throttle response in the mid range. The Motronic box must be sent to us for modification since Porsche didnt use a chip socket on these cars. Fed-Ex Priority Service can keep downtime to minimum while this is being done. ******************************************************************* 993 Twin-Turbo Engine Performance Upgrades Rennsport Systems offers several components that enhance the performance of these already fast cars. We have OBD-II compliant power upgrade packages comprised of a new chip and various combinations of hardware that raises the stock 400 HP to: Factory "Turbo S" 424-430 HP: This is comprised of a remapped DME (customer-provided) and an additional front oil cooler. Many people wish to know if installing a chip will void or affect the warranty. This is a very legitimate question and the last word on this will decided by the Manufacturer and Dealer. Now,.......you have very specific rights granted by Federal Antitrust laws and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that you must be aware of to keep from being "stonewalled" by a Dealer or Manufacturer. Under Federal Antitrust Laws, the use of parts or accessories that were not purchased from and installed by the Dealer do not affect the vehicle's warranty. Manufacturer's and their authorized representatives, may not condition a warranty on the use of their own parts or service, unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. Also, they may not refuse to honor a warranty unless they can show that an aftermarket part or accessory is the cause of a particular malfunction otherwise covered by the warranty. In other words, warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle or have been used. The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket parts caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. Normally, these issues boil down to facts and technical opinions, rather than interpretations of the law. Any denials of warranty should be gotten in writing from the Dealer. The Dealer must describe both the failure and how they believe the aftermarket part is responsible. SEMA's website has some useful information about this that can be found at http://www.sema.org/warranty/ Contact Rennsport Systems for more information and special pricing Call: 503.244.0990 or e-mail: |
