2.7 liter Aluminum-cased racing engine that produced 285+ HP on our dyno.Very high compression, lots of custom work on heads, case, and TLC in the assembly. Click on it for a bigger view Rennsport Systems offers a complete racing and high-performance engine building facility as well as dyno and airflow testing services for your street or race car. We can build complete engines, rebuild your existing powerplant, or simply perform the various machine shop services for you. All of our engine packages reflect 29+ years of building, developing, and racing Porsche Air-cooled six cylinder engines. We have been involved with 911 RS, RSR 3.0, 935, 993 3.8 RSR and 996 GT-3 variants of 911 engines ranging in size from 2.0 liters to 3.8 liters. Our customers receive the benefit of our experience in cylinder head and crankcase preparation as well as tuning expertise with Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection and Motronic Systems, Weber & PMO Carburetors, and Motec Engine Management Systems. Some of the engine modification packages we offer consist of displacement changes, compression increases, camshaft upgrades, head flow improvements, induction changes, and custom exhausts. Here are some of the different sizes that we create for specific racing applications as well as street use.
Other engine sizes are available on a custom basis. Please call for your specific needs.

Boattailed Engine Case Cylinder Head Preparation & Valve Jobs One of the most important parts in building engine performance and durability is proper cylinder head preparation. This applies to street or racing engines. To this end, all Rennsport System's cylinder heads are given a precision valve job after any headflow work is performed. Valve seats are machined with special carbide cutters, not ground with abrasive media. This makes a very fine surface finish that seals much better than a surface that is re-faced with a stone. New valve guides are installed and honed to fit each valve stem. We do not use reamers for sizing the valve stem-to-guide clearance. This makes a much finer surface finish inside the guide that promotes better heat transfer as well as longer guide life. Valves are carefully centered and given a 3-angle cut to match the seats. The last operation is re-surfacing the head-to-cylinder seating area to ensure that the heads seal correctly on the barrels. If larger cylinders are installed, the heads are clearanced for the larger bores, as necessary. These operations and procedures result in a cylinder head that will outlast and outperform the original head due to the extra attention given to fitting and finishing the valves, valve seats and guides that the Porsche Factory cannot economically do. When cylinder head flow improvements are requested, the valve job procedures outlined above, are performed after the heads have been flowed.
Custom Programmable Fuel Injection Systems
Rennsport Systems offers our programmable fuel injection package that contains:
Ignition components are optional and these systems can trigger a distributor, coil-pack ignition, or coil-on-plug ignition. ________________________________________________ PMO Carburetors & Accessories We are authorized dealers & installers for PMO carburetors. Complete PMO carburetor kits in 40mm, 46mm, and 50mm variants include everything required for installation or conversion. Carbs are pre-jetted for each engine's configuration and setup. Carburetor kits include: Tall or Short Manifolds in a variety of port sizes Crossbar Linkage setup Watershield Aircleaners Billet Fuel Pressure Control Unit Heat Insulator kit Oil Tank Breather Fuel line, clamps, filters, injector plugs (as needed) and power brake check valve ________________________________________________ Racing Exhaust Systems Rennsport systems offers a racing exhaust system which completely eliminate flat spots, but are within the noise requirements of most tracks which enforce such limitations:
Magnecor Racing Spark Plug Cables Magnecor 8.5mm spark plug wires are the best high tension cables that you can get today. For Porsche air-cooled engines, these wire sets offer several advantages over any other competitive products. Magnecor eliminated the troublesome resistor in the plug connector that causes missing and intermittent cylinder operation. Instead, all of the required RFI and EMI supression is in the design of the wire. The Magnecor plug connectors are the last connectors that you will buy. For Electromotive DIS Crank-fired ignitions, these are the only plug wires sets that will eliminate the RFI problems that these systems are quite susceptible to. The 5000+ ohms-per-foot cables rid the engine of strange mis-fires and random coil firings due to EMI interference. Magnecor Plug wire sets are available for all Porsche 911-930-964-993 engines. Electromotive Crank-Fire plug wire sets are custom made due to the variation in ignition unit mounting locations.
