Which Spark Plugs To Run On the Street?

About got the long block back together in my 12 month rebuild of my 3.6 out of my 98. The engine is stock, except for 52 mm intake valves and a Webcam RS hydraulic cam. Will also be installing a 200 cel cat. What plugs should I run in this motor? My last set, prior to the rebuild were NGK BKR6EK twin electrode plugs. They seemed to run well and looked fine on disassembly; however, the motor had 110k miles on it at that time. Now, essentially a new engine. Your thoughts would be appreciated. If you have an opinion on spark plug make, can you also spec out the model of plug?

Hi Ernie,

We run either FR6DTC or FR5DTC, depending on how the car is used. For general all-around use in N/A 993's ,the FR6DTC is perfect. FR5's are used in TT's.

Thanks Steve. I did a Google search to find where I could buy the FR6 plugs, and the search came up with the plug listed as "Discontinued". Where can I go to source these plugs?

Steve: as for information on this topic, I searched for "Bosch FR6DTC" and came up with a number
of vendors.

Another question is whether you recommend any for of lubricant or antiseize on the plug prior to
installation?

Thanks for all your help.

Gary
