Fuel injectors and Resonance flap questions

How can you tell if your fuel injectors need re building or replacement?

My car is feeling jerky on take off and when cruising at, lets say 2500 rpm in second the car is jerking.

Also my resonance flap is not working again. This is the third time in 5 years it stopped working.
I cannot always make it to my mechanic so I would line to learn how to trouble shoot it and repair it myself.

Thank you !

It can be difficult, based on multiple symptoms that masquerade as other issues.

You didn't say how many miles are on your car nor anything about your maintenance regimen, however I can tell you that most cars need injector testing & cleaning by 70K. They would go longer, however the proactive use of good fuel additives is most often overlooked until there is a problem,... :)

These cannot be "rebuilt", only tested and cleaned to re-establish proper spray patterns provided the injector tips are not corroded. In that case, new ones are required to restore performance and drivability.

How long has it been since you put Techron or something similar in the tank?

Resonance flap issues are usually vacuum related and that means a thorough inspection of ALL the vacuum lines, fittings, and actuators.
