Diagnostic Procedure

Hello Steve,
I'm planning to drop the engine from my '74 2.7 this winter to chase down a couple of oil leaks and have a look at the clutch, but before that I'd like to do some diagnostics.
Can you outline the steps for a leak down and compression test for me? For example engine warm, cold, etc.

Leakdown testing should always be done warm to hot to get quantifiable results. I don't compression tests since I think they are largely useless.
