Have the chance to pick up a set of used 2-piece SC spring plates to put on my '74 for less than $150. Should I go for it?

Outstanding. When the plates arrive I'll gather them up for a show and tell and head over to pick up a set.
Sorry I couldn't make it to B&B yesterday. I've been laid up with some sort of a virus the last few days.

Absolutely, go with the ER bushings!
Are you also doing the front? If so I would say go with ER as well; you can't go wrong.
