Easy Rear Torsion Bar Swap?

Postby galt » Mon Jun 19, 2017 8:12 pm

Are there any shortcuts I can use if I am replacing the rear torsion bars with the same size?

e.g not removing the spring plate, R. shock bolt, etc.

'73 tub; 27 mm R. bars with upgraded spring plates (adjustable from an SC) and the aluminum trailing arms

Thanks!

Hi,

Unless you have the ER Quick-change spring plates and torsion bars, you really won't be able to change bars without removing at least part of the spring plate.

Doesn't take that long to do, however a rear alignment is necessary as you know. :)

We always check corner weights whenever torsion bars are changed.

Thx - I think the bushings are Neatrix based on some paperwork. They aren't glued on.

Those old Neatrix bushings turned out to be problematic,...the ER rubbers ones last FAR longer and work better since they do n't rely on the adhesive to secure the bushings.
