911 66-89 and 930 Turbo 76-89 Rennsport Systems recommends and uses Bilstein Shocks for most street performance applications. Although there are other fine shocks available for Porsches, we feel that the long-term relationship between the Porsche Factory and Bilstein has resulted in an optimized shock absorber for these particular cars. We also offer custom valving for special street and racing applications. Bilstein's RSR racing shocks are also shorter to restore lost suspension travel on lowered cars and restore the front roll center to its proper position. For the ultimate in racing shock absorbers, Moton, JRZ, or Fox Racing 2-way and 3-way adjustable Shocks are THE solution and can be precisely tuned for your car. These shocks also feature remote reservoirs for maximum cooling.
69-89 911 Rennsport Custom RSR Front Strut & Rear Shock. These struts have raised spindles that are 19mm higher than stock, utilize our own valving, and are reinforced. The rear shocks are almost 2" shorter than the stock ones and the lower mount has a heim joint to eliminate bushing deflection. 911 66-89 and 930 Turbo 76-89 : We have complete Bilstein Struts & Inserts as well as Rear Shocks for these applications. The shock valving varies appropriately: Heavy Duty - This is suitable for stock and slightly improved spring rates. The ride quality is unchanged. Sport - This is suitable for larger torsion bars and stiffer springs used more for sporting events and some types of racing. Front Sport inserts will make the ride noticably stiffer than HD's. Rear applications do not impact the ride quality as much. RSR or Custom Valving - This type of valving is made for competitive track events and will be considerably stiffer than stock. These struts and shocks have threaded bodies for coil-over conversions. Front struts feature our own custom valving and reinforced spindles located 19mm higher than stock. The rear shocks have monoballs instead of rubber bushings at the trailing arm mount. These can also be mounted upside down to reduce unsprung weight and gain spring clearance in the pre-72 911's. Custom valved shocks can be set up for street cars to give a firm but quite acceptable ride. Rennsport Systems can also raise the spindles on your Bilstein struts for improved travel and geometry.
