section contains Piston & Cylinder sets, Camshafts, Eprom
chipsets, Exhaust Systems, and Magnecor Plug Wire Sets Piston-Cylinder Sets Rennsport Systems uses and recommends Mahle P/C's for street engines and JE pistons for race applications. Additionally, we also have custom, Billet cylinders with nickel-carbide-silicon coating in 102mm sizes. JE pistons are manufactured from high-silicon forgings that possess similar coefficients of expansion as the factory Mahle pistons. Piston sets in any compression ratio are available separately and are supplied with Porsche OEM ring sets that significantly reduce oil consumption.
JE 3.8 Piston set Available sizes are: 84mm, 85mm, 90mm, 92mm, 95mm, 98mm, 100mm, 102mm Rings, Lightweight pins, and clips included with each set. We offer many different camshafts for street or racing applications. All camshafts are available outright or ground on your cores. Call for application information. Some of the camshafts we offer are: Solex, 911S, 911RSR (Sprint), 120/104, 149/181i, GE-40, GE-60, GE-80, and SC or 964 grinds for 930's. Several custom profiles for naturally aspirated racing engines are also available. These and other profiles are available for naturally-aspirated and turbocharged engines. We also offer custom camshaft grinds of our own specification.
Rennsport systems offers GIAC and custom performance enhancing software. Performance chips are available for Carrera 84-89, C2/C4 89-94, 993 95-on TT, 996, 996 TT and Boxster, as well as various racing chips for Cup cars and RSR's. Replacement DME software is a very cost effective method to increase power and throttle response for 911 Carrera's from 1984-onward. While the power gains are conservative, the engine's response is improved. Most chips require the use of premium fuel to realize the performance gains. All software is smog and OBD-compliant. Racing Exhaust Systems Rennsport systems offers a racing exhaust system which completely eliminate flat spots, but are within the noise requirements of most tracks which enforce such limitations:
Magnecor Racing Spark Plug Cables Magnecor spark plug wires are the best high tension cables that you can get today. For Porsche air-cooled engines, these wire sets offer several advantages over any other competitive products. Magnecor eliminated the troublesome resistor in the plug connector that causes missing and intermittent cylinder operation. Instead, all of the required RFI and EMI supression is in the design of the wire. The Magnecor plug connectors are the last connectors that you will buy. For Electromotive DIS Crank-fired ignitions, these are the only plug wires sets that will eliminate the RFI problems that these systems are quite susceptible to. The 5000+ ohms-per-foot cables rid the engine of strange mis-fires and random coil firings due to EMI interference. Magnecor Plug wire sets are available for all Porsche 911-930-964-993 engines. Electromotive Crank-Fire plug wire sets are custom made due to the variation in ignition unit mounting locations.
